The Yukon Government Announces Regulations for Psychology in the Yukon as of February 1, 2025

We now have Psychology Regulations in Yukon!

Thank you to members of the Psychological Society of Yukon and our colleagues across Canada who travelled to Yukon to support us.

Thank you to the Liberal Party and Community Services for their work on this, the Yukon Party and NDP for asking hard questions, CBC media for hearing our requests, and to everyone who supported us through this journey.

What do Psychology Regulations Mean?

Psychologists in Yukon will be a regulated Health Profession on Feb 1, just like in the rest of Canada. It ensures greater safety and protection for those seeking mental health services in Yukon. You can know that your psychologist has met a minimum standard of education, engaged in supervised practice, has successfully completed a licensing exam, and completes regular continuing education.

This has been part of the mandate of the Psychological Society of Yukon since our beginnings in 2019. We are so excited!
